League campaign off to winning start!!!!............

 

So the League season is underway and starting in superb style with an impressive win

at the New Inn Pub at Broadclyst.

Never an easy game for any team, and the way the match started, WestHill.com feared the worst.  Lose by 5 pins first end, "That's OK" said Woody (Captain).  Second leg lose by 12 pins..."That's Ok" said Woody (Captain). Fearing hearing the captains words again, the team decided to not lose the third leg....so we drew it........and the captain said " Ahh, That's OK".  What could we do.....we'll have to win a leg by a wide margin......so into the fourth end, New Inn only posted 58, so with a flopper and two spares we had an inspiring 78 to not only take the leg but also lead the match at half-way..............Our captain was beside himself with pride, and pleased with the way his words had inspired the team......and obviously decided to speak individually to each player....."That's Ok" he said seven times.

The next two legs were inspired by Deano, who virtually kept our lead on his own...... Captain was relaxed, team were confident of a win and the momentum was kept to the last, with a great last leg of 77 to round off a good night and a WIN BY 47 PINS...........

"Well done Lads, fantastic result, well played" came from the alley...the team looked round at who had uttered these mighty words.....no one knew (Editor.. think it was the Captain!)

Just when we thought the skittles was over for the night, it was voted that there should be a play-off between the two top scorers (Filthy and Deano). Three balls, top score takes the pot.......Hard luck Deano!!!

So onwards and upwards with an unchanged team descending on the legion club next week for the first home game of the season....................
