The cup competition begins.......
1st game - Away at the "Floppers" in the first Round of the Cup.......and what followed can only be described as an inspired performance.......
The "Floppers" were playing well above their league position so it needed some inspired skittling from the WestHill.com team to maintain parity. This came in the form of;
Jacko , who rang the flopper bell on the very first end, and was putting all his long summer hours of practice into play, the like of which had not been seen in a while!
Wide of the Mark - named Skippy for the evening on the basis he had relinquished the Captains armband from last season to Woody. Without the undoubted pressure of being captain, "Wide of the Mark" had finally found an alley to his liking! His final score of 81, was just "poetry in motion" !!!
DK - Again inspired - enjoyed ringing the flopper bell and thrashed his last seasons average in one night with a fine 67
.Pistol, another one who found an alley he liked.....started off with a fine 71
Deano, Goody, both produced consistent performances and always felt they did enough....well Goody become inspired the longer the evening went on! (drinking or skittling?)
Despite the highs, there were obviously some disappointments- rather unlucky skittling - namely Filthy...never felt required to score too heavily (give the others a chance!) and the new Captain, Woody, obvious felt the pressure. Can't remember his actual score as ...well....it wasn't memorable!!
In the TOPPERS (top 4 named on board) Vs WAGGERS (Bottom 4 named) the match ended even with both lots winning 4 ends each. This is a great result for the Waggers but obviously disappointing for the Toppers!!!!
So a win by 38
pins sees the team flying into the next
round..........Cardiff here we come!
(actually scores of all players will be updated as soon as available!)
